The Gun’ Gets One on the Board                                                                                22-3-10

Grant ‘The Gun’ Anderson picked up his maiden feature race victory of the 09/10 season after he last Saturday night outdrove his rivals during the 11th and penultimate round of the Victorian based Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series at Heartland Raceway (Moama, NSW).

In what turned out to be a commanding feature race victory, ‘The Gun’ was on the pace aboard his VIC # 37 Wagga Mobile Cranes supported Foster all night after he had won the pole shootout to earn a front row start.

“We had a great package all night and it was great to come away with the victory,” ‘The Gun’ expressed after what was his third career feature race victory at the Heartland Raceway track. “It’s been a mixed season and to be honest I thought that our first win of the season would’ve come a little bit earlier but that is just the way this sport goes sometimes.”

‘The Guns’ victory last Saturday night certainly didn’t make up for the disappointment of finishing second in the Victorian Title the weekend prior at Premier Speedway.

“It would’ve been better to get up for the win the weekend before but I’ll take this one none the less,” he admitted. “In our past two race meetings we’ve been pretty good as now I’m back in the family owned car and that is where I feel most comfortable.”

The annual Easter Trail, which is made up of three nights of consecutive racing over the Easter Long Weekend (April 2,3 and 4) at Avalon Raceway – Borderline Speedway and Premier Speedway tracks, is the next event on the 09/10 season calendar for ‘The Gun’ and he is also the events defending champion.

“I couldn’t have hoped for any better form to take with me into this season’s Easter Trail and the goal is for a successful defence and nothing less,” he added. “I feel confident that I can achieve that as I have a strong package and great support behind me.”
